Welcome to the August Faithful Little Bulletin

"All About Me"

August was full of learning about one-another with a special focus on name and letter recognition, and learning that they are, "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made," by God. It was truly delightful to see how excited they became when recognizing their friends' names, or responding "(Insert Letter" is for ME!"

One Year of Trust, Care, and Growth – Thank You for truly being part of our family!

From the moment we met the Grandjeans, they were so supportive and gracious. Before they really even knew us, they volunteered their time and energy to help us after Hurricane Helene dropped the neighbor's humongous oak tree onto our property.

They were out there with us and with gloves and a saw in hand! We are so blessed and grateful for having you in our lives!

One Year with Dom!

Dominic has grown so much since starting with us! His progress has beeng amazing to observe! From scribbling to now writing his name! He is so creative and talented! We love seeing how his little mind works when playing.

Happy Birthday Daniel!

Daniel turns 7! Daniel loves the beach, playing video games, learning to play chess with his dad and going to his jiu jitsu classes!

Being the middle brother is a HARD job, but he's great at it! So sweet and helpful with his little brother Edan and a great play-pal with his older brother Kaleb!

Final Summer Splash Pad Friday!

We closed out the summber break with one final splash pad day! As always, the children had so much fun followed by a yummy lunch prepared by Chef Mrs. B!

New Outdoor Mud Kitchen – Learning Through Play!

We’re excited to share that our outdoor space has a brand-new mud kitchen playset! This hands-on addition gives children the chance to scoop, mix, pour, and create, all while sparking their imagination. Beyond the fun, mud play helps build fine motor skills, encourages teamwork, and strengthens sensory development. Whether they’re “cooking up” pretend meals or experimenting with textures, our little scholars are learning problem-solving, creativity, and cooperation in the most natural way possible—through play!

A Special Thank You to Alex!

We want to give a big thank you to Alex, Dominic’s father, for joining us to read to the children this month! The kids loved listening to his story and sharing that special time together. Moments like these not only spark a love for reading but also show our little scholars the joy of learning as a community. We are so grateful for parents who take the time to be part of their children’s learning journey!

Building Early Literacy Skills

Matching letters to their name! Activities like this help children recognize letters, strengthen memory, and build confidence as they begin their reading journey. Every letter matched is a step closer to becoming lifelong learners!

Chick Chicka boom boom comes home!

Reading at Home

Each of our little scholars brought home a copy of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! This playful, rhyming story is a favorite for introducing children to the alphabet in a fun and memorable way. We encourage families to read together and let the children join in with the rhythm and repetition—helping them build early literacy skills while enjoying a classic story.

Reading together at home not only reinforces what we practice in class, but also creates special bonding moments with your child. We encourage families to enjoy the story together—repeat the fun rhymes, point out the letters, and even act out the alphabet climbing the coconut tree! Every page turned is another step in building early literacy skills and a lifelong love for reading.

Welcome to Our New Pup, Maki!

We’re so excited to introduce the newest member of our Faithful Little Scholars family—Maki! She’s a 1-year-old Shepherd and Bernese mix who is Service Dog certified and absolutely wonderful with children. Maki brings a calm, loving presence to our daycare, and the kids are already enjoying her gentle nature and playful spirit. Having her around not only adds joy to our days but also helps teach the children responsibility, empathy, and kindness toward animals. We’re thrilled to have her as part of our Faithful Little Scholars community!

Looking forward to September!

This coming month’s activity pack is all about apples and learning through fun! Each child is bringing home their own kit, complete with stickers, crafts, and the classic Dr. Seuss book Ten Apples Up On Top! to enjoy together as a family. The pack also includes a sweet reminder that we “Keep Jesus at the core of everything,” tying in both faith and learning.

With these hands-on activities, children will practice counting, letter recognition, and fine motor skills while having fun with apple-themed crafts. Families can read the story together, then use the stickers and materials to create playful projects that reinforce the joy of learning both at school and at home.
