✨ November Recap ✨

What a wonderful month we’ve had—one filled with gratitude, joy, and appreciation!

We began the month by celebrating you, our amazing Faithful families, with our Parent Appreciation Dinner. It was important to us to take the time to express just how grateful we are that you entrust us with your most precious gifts. Our success is rooted in your continued support, partnership, and belief in our mission. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Our foundational truth this month was “Gratitude”, teaching the children that we can thank God because He is good — Psalm 107:1.

Throughout the month, we explored basic shapes through fun gross motor activities, practiced number and letter recognition with our homemade pumpkin play dough, and baked “Friendship Muffins.” There’s no sweeter way to express gratitude for our friends than by baking together and enjoying our creations as a community.

One of our biggest highlights was our Friendsgiving Lunch, where the children helped prepare a traditional Honduran salad called chimol. They were so proud to show off their chopping skills— and it turned out delicious! A heartfelt thank you to our families for contributing such tasty dishes to our Friendsgiving meal.

During this special lunch, we also welcomed our monthly inspection and observation from our military program coordinator, Ms. Jayla. She was delighted to join us, and I am thrilled to share that we passed our DOD inspection with excellence.

Here is a portion of Ms. Jayla’s report:

“Yaritza’s home visit went exceptionally well. I arrived around pre-lunchtime while the children played with blocks as Yaritza prepared lunch. The children reminded each other that it was time to clean up and wash hands so that we could get ready to eat as Yaritza set the table. One child prayed over the food, and everyone began eating at this time. Parents joined in and sat at the adult table and ate the Thanksgiving feast. This encouraged cultural diversity, family engagement, and enrichment while practicing family-style dining. Yaritza’s home was in compliance, and she passed the home inspection. While maintaining DOD requirements, she still hosted an amazing Friendsgiving and family dinner.”

🎄 December Take-Home Activity: Christmas & Winter Wonderland 🎅❄️

We’re celebrating the joy of the season with a magical Christmas + Winter Wonderland take-home kit!

This month’s activity invites your child to explore the beauty of Christmas through hands-on creativity and a heartwarming story. Inside your kit, you’ll find:

 📘 Storybook: The Christmas Blessing
A beautifully illustrated Nativity tale about love, kindness, and the animals that welcomed baby Jesus. We encourage families to enjoy this story together as a cozy holiday read-aloud.

✨ Craft Activities Included:

  • Build-Your-Own Gingerbread House with colorful stickers for decorating trees, candy canes, and treats!

  • Nativity Scene Craft featuring the stable, angel, and animals—perfect for retelling the Christmas story at home.

  • Holiday Ornament Crafts such as a reindeer, wreath, and mini Santa hat to hang on your Christmas tree.

  • Snowman Kit with squishy cloud dough and accessories to create your very own frosty friend.

  • Winter Play Figures like a tiny broom, sticks, buttons, and more to spark imaginative storytelling.

These activities help children develop fine-motor skills, practice creativity, and connect with the spirit of giving and togetherness.

We hope this month’s take-home project brings joyful moments, warm memories, and lots of laughter into your home. From our family at Faithful Little Scholars to yours…

🎄 Looking Ahead: December

Our theme for the month is “Christmas and Holidays Around the World.”

As we enter this season of joy and celebration, we anchor our hearts in the beautiful truth of Isaiah 9:6:

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…”

This verse reminds us of the greatest gift ever given and the true meaning of Christmas. As we explore how families around the world celebrate the holidays in their unique and beautiful ways, we’ll be helping the children understand that no matter where we come from or how we celebrate, the Christmas story unites us all with a message of hope, love, and light.
